I have such a hard time imagining this working well. I used an AI service to make a picture of an archer in a different position from where the image originally showed him and it consistently insisted on swapping the arrow tip and the feathers, so feathers at the front of the arrow. Just because you give these things instructions does not mean they get followed precisely.
That’s a fair concern DougN7. Generative image/video models are probabilistic, so they can easily cause mistakes like the arrow example you mentioned.
Film Studio works differently for many edits: It is not a generative image/video model. Instead, the prompt will be translated into deterministic code/parameters, which are then rendered with Remotion. So “move this 20px left” or “start this animation at frame 60” becomes an exact operation, rather than a suggestion to a generative model.

Does it follow redirects? My non-www hostname redirects to the www hostname, but ax-check.com says it gets no response back. Any reason it can't take the hostname as-is instead of stripping off the www?
I just read another long post on HN about whether AIs are conscious and should therefore have rights. That decisions could massive effects, and making them appear to have emotions is therefore a big impact, not just unpredictability.
I’m happy for you and your family so far. What I saw with my kids (now in their 20’s) is they changed from what you are describing with your kids when peer pressure entered their lives, and always-on entertainment of every sort was in their pockets. Many/most of their earlier interests sadly could not compete in the dopamine arena of life. I hope you’ll find a way to parent better than I did, but keep this “tech fast” idea in your back pocket - you might be surprised to need it some day.
I attempt to live sort of like this too. My mother is beside herself with all of the wildfires in the world. In my opinion that is like stabbing your hand with a fork. I’m aware of lots of problems in the world, but I can’t do much if anything about them. So I let them go - I’m not going to injure myself over something I can’t control. Uncertainty is the same - worry and anger injure yourself, but changes nothing. Don’t subject yourself to needless pain. I just wish I could live by these words all the time, but it’s hard.
