Can we put Bezos on a PIP?

I used to fantasize about using computers to print stuff. I ended up at a little company that made desktop publishing software. While I was employed there, I went on vacation in Chicago and found myself in the basement of the former Donnelly printing plant where Sears-Robuck catalogs were printed. They had an exhibit of old printing presses, and at least one of them functioned. The docent told small groups how they worked. I told him my occupation, and he played off me as he lectured. He printed a souvenir for me, a little bit of paper with “Quality isn’t quick” written on it. Except there was an upside down ‘n’ where a ‘u’ belonged.

The organization used an antique letterpress to print up invitations for weddings and such.

From USA, one mainly needs WhatsApp to chat with Latin Americans. Judging from the billboards I have seen in Argentina and Uruguay, there are a lot of Latin Americans getting WA free. So of course, why pay more?

West Asia is a less Eurocentric than “Orient” or “Middle East.” I like it.

"Asia" is a Greek name, fully Eurocentric.

The entire continent doesn't even make sense. Geographically, sure, culturally, absolutely not. It should either be Eurasia or probably about 5 different continents (South of Himalaya aka Indian subcontinent, North of Himalaya aka Siberia + Central Asia + China + South East Asia, South of Caucasus + Kopet Dag aka Middle East, etc).

But the correct term is West Asia and not middle east

(I live here and yet I didn't know it until this was shown as West Asia war on the news)

The entire region needs a better name. It's own name, something that's not meant to be "in the middle, between more important regions", "west of what people consider more important".

I was actually thinking about that and stuff like "Fertile Crescent" would be more neutral (but it risks not covering places like Arabia).

I wonder if locals have a generic name for the entire region that's more appropriate.

I suppose West Asia is the default name for that region just like South Asia is for India and neighbouring countries

On the other hand, sometimes the naive approach does work. I bought something from a Ukrainian via Kickstarter, and expected that some sort of difficulty would emerge, but no, it did not. From the tracking information, it appears that from his location, it was handed over to the Post, and it went through the usual steps to me in California.

In fact there was one unusual event, compared to my daily experience, which was an event that blew the windows of his shop. So he divided his works across multiple locations for geographical diversity and carried on.
