I’m currently using Modal for my GPU training workload, how does this differ?

Modal is an ephemeral sandbox, whereas machine0 is a persistent VM you own: root, your own driver/CUDA/kernel, GPU passed straight through, and a fixed GPU per size.

So you are using Modal VMs for training (I assume RL evals?).

I’ve been using machine0 for hosting openclaw and a couple of web apps i’ve been working on. Great product super easy to use with claude code.

That's my understanding too, though i haven't checked it. running claude -p would be horribly inefficient. I would not be surprised if openclaw added some compatibility layer to brute force prompts through claude -p as a workaround. This isn't the first time that openclaw was "banned" from claude subscriptions.

It is a social construct but if you just print money you get ... inflation. You can't just increase money supply to redistribute wealth without consequences.

This seems like the most likely explanation. Legacy AI out in favour of LLM focused AI. Also perhaps some cleaning out of the old guard and middle management while they're at it.

Asahi linux is making great progress. The only thing they have left to make it a truly capable linux environment is USB-C external display support. Once that lands I plan to use my M-series mac as a Linux machine.

Add to this list, ability to verify correct implementation by viewing a user interface, and taking a holistic code-base / interface-wide view of how to best implement something.
