Usually when people mention they run pfSense it means, "I heard pfSense is good for security so I use it". If I get that impression in an interview, GG. IMO it's an easy litmus test for netsec/secops roles. If you can't write a pf rule, there are probably bigger issues. OpenBSD is the way to go.

I also think the pfSense CEO has a massively inflated ego and pays little homage to the roots of his software. Does pf really need a GUI?
