My ath9k stopped working after upgrading from 5.4.x to 5.15.x... 5ghz radios disabled, couldnt turn them on no matter what I tried. I figured it was because hostapd screwed something up...

I wonder if it was the same (or similar) issue... I wound up buying a mikrotik AP after all that nonsense.
